Wow. I’ve also seen the real estate equivalent - $250,000 house, add a $100K Mountain Lake pool, and voila! A $325,000 house!
Um, no.

*total installration
Greddy sport oil filter
wow, first was he under the impression we didn’t think those mods were installed? Second obviously the spelling.
I also wanna know how much hp the Greddy oil filter adds lol

Ihave a K&N oil filter in my RX-8, mostly because it can be removed with a wrench, so it’s way easier to replace.
Also: street cred

I was expecting a Rocket Bunny kit.
This makes even less sense.

Yeah, I put one on my Dyna too because Harley- in their infinite wisdom- puts the oil filter where you can’t get a band wrench on it, and if you try to use a claw wrench you stand a good chance of breaking the crank position sensor.

People just don’t get that mods don’t add to the car’s value. In my case, a car like that with performance mods is worth $0. A modded car is a beaten car.

Mods =/= investments. Perhaps on a fully built-from-the-ground-up car with all new parts like a race car or something. But all that Autozone tack on bullshit and a light kit with some ugly wheels? Nah, brah. No one’s going to give you brand new STI money for that, not when they can just grab another used FRS for like $12k or so, and another $10k with the same parts and get the same result (generously assuming that stick on shit is worth $10k here, it’s likely not)

In my market that actually is how it works. Except with a way bigger return on your investment.

Crack Pipe!!! CRACK PIPE!!!

Exactly. I may sometimes consider paying a little extra if it’s the mods I would do and they are done well, but of course this guy claims to be $15k into add ons and there’s no freaking forced induction.

I do love the ‘NEW CAR’ bold type he used to justify the value. Like...dude, you’ve had this thing for a little under a year. It’s not new anymore. GTFAC with that.

HTW do you spend 15k on coil-overs and light mods? It’s like he hates money.

CA? FL? That would make sense.

AZ, so basically, yeah.

I did appraisal work in MD/DC, and a pool does not necessarily add value due to having 4 seasons.

My friend was in construction and had multiple client go “its a lot of money but we’ll get it back and have fun”

I saw a couple decline to place an offer because they had small children and were worried about accidents. On the other hand, if everyone can swim and you don’t mind losing most of the cost of the pool (say you’re in Michigan), go for it.
